Rabbit Jumping

rabbitRandom Fact Day! In the seventies, Sweden developed a rabbit show jumping similar to our horse jumping. In 1987, they had the first national championship. Trainers can win titles and awards during rabbit hopping events. The sport grew and spread to Norway, Denmark, England, Japan, and last year to Australia. Although there are some into this sport in the United States, it’s not nearly as common. Since the rules vary from country to country, it’s hard for them to make international events. If you’re interested in jumping your own rabbit, you can start training your young bunny by getting him a harness and letting him hop over small obstacles. Check out a cute video here. Now you have something to talk about when there’s an awkward pause in conversation!   ~Dutch
