This Tuesday is now officially “Tech Tuesday – Throwback Edition.” I love seeing old technology still being used and appreciated, in our overly modern world, the record is a perfect example of a technology that will not die. Records have been gaining popularity again, and it has nothing to do with Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone. Personally, I think is has to do with the fact that you no longer need a book of CD’s or whatever you carried tapes around with to have your music with you, but still having a “hard copy” home collection can just be better appreciated. Digital music quality is coming along, but there will never be a replacement for the warm sound of analog. Additionally, what hipster wouldn’t want to show off his or her extensive vinyl collection? The guys at Gotta Groove Records share my appreciation for analog, and are still pressing records today for modern bands. Check out the short documentary below and take a closer look at how a new record gets pressed.
